The Christmas Tree

I'm feeling a little down in the dumps about Christmas this year. All of our stuff is in storage and I'm getting a little frustrated living out of boxes. I was debating whether or not to put up a tree or not, but decided to do it. The girls love it! They were so excited to put the ornaments on and have presents under the tree. If you look close you can see half the decorations are on the floor. The girls have had lots of fun taking the ornaments on and off. I gave up trying to get them back on. :)

I also wanted to post a picture of this beautiful ornament I got in an ornament exchange. I wrote my friend Jaci's name on it because I always want to remember who I got it from. Even though it falls apart everytime it's touched and a couple of pieces are missing, it means a lot to me because it came from the heart! :)

Happy Birthday's

Happy Birthday to Anthony. We went to the Melting Pot for dinner and were messing around with taking pictures. Here's Anthony's best senior picture pose. :)

We went with Tricia and Adam because it was Tricia's birthday, too. It's a lot of food but it's oh so good. My favorite was the cheese fondue! MMMM....
Our waiter. He was pretty entertaining.

Santa Claus

We went to Anthony's work Christmas Party. We stood in line to meet Santa. When it was Sadie's turn, she stood there and didn't say much. When she got to give him her picture, she asked for a Pink Princess Castle and told him she's be good.
Lauren was more interested in this stuffed bear. There was another little girl about Lauren's age, that was interested in the bear too. It was pretty funny to see them fighting over it. When they'd get close enough, they'd give it a big hug and make dirty looks at each other.

Are mine the only ones?

My kids hate the car wash! I tried to get the car washed when I got back from Utah- but everything was closed because it was freezing outside. The car was looking pretty gross so we decided to take it through with the kids.
This is Mercedes before we even got into the wash. She kept her ears plugged the whole time.

Lauren sucked her thumb pretty much the whole time- except when she started to cry because of the brushes hitting the window.

House update

They are working on the taping and texturing in the house right now. The door way to the left is going to be the kids room- a place for all the toys! YIPPEEE

Christmas Carol

We took the girls to their very first movie, Disney's Christmas Carol. Our realtor had a customer appreciation movie day and we got to bring the kids. Lauren wasn't ready for all the sitting, but watched more of the movie than I thought she would. Mercedes liked the treats and popcorn and watched most of the movie. We had a lot of fun.
I will say that my favorite version of this story is the Muppets Christmas Carol. This one is really dark and pretty scary. It makes me want to read the actual story by Dickens.

On a different note, Lauren has discovered that if she makes a sad face she gets attention. She's getting pretty good at it- with real tears and everything! It's really cute and you can't help but feel sorry for her. She knows how to work it already! What am I going to do?

house

They are done with the framing. I don't know what comes next...I'm guessing the roof and siding. It's going fast!

I love all the windows along the back of the house. Those are the kitchen-then dining and family room windows!
